The FOLDER named: SPANISH.DICT.TWO.PARTS, consisting of two ShrinkIt archives below, less than 800k each with a READ.ME.txt information text file, has been uploaded to Ground and is also available for current public access and downloads from; ftp://apple.cabi.net/pub/applegs/Applications/ http://apple.cabi.net/pub/applegs/Applications/ and http://www.grin.net/~cturley/gsezine/GS.WorldView/***********MAY.99/ So...go get it, if you need it. Cheers, Tom -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I've been advised by several A2 users that it would be much easier for them if I provided 'The Spanish Dictionary' in two ShrinkIt (SHK) archives that are both under 800k in size so that they could download the archives directly to an 800k PRODOS 3.5 disk via their Apple IIgs or other Apple II model they are accessing the Internet with. So, that's exactly what I've done within the contents of this folder. I've also added a few more new Spanish words to the list of the words that comprise the Part2.txt file of 'The Spanish Dictionary'. Part1.txt is Part1.SHK (791k) and is - a.thru.uń (a ProDOS - ASCII text file). Part2.txt is Part2.SHK (34k) and is - v.to.end (also a ProDOS - ASCII text file). As such, being available in two segments, as ShrinkIt archives and within them, (as ProDOS - ASCII text files) both consisting in their entire content 'The Spanish Dictionary' - these two ShrinkIt archives should be exactly what those without the means to download and use the original single (816k) ShrinkIt archive need to have available to them. However, there is still the matter that some may have to deal with - in that the Part1.txt file will unshrink to a 2533k file and the Part2.txt file unshrinks to 85k. I'll leave combining them again and/or breaking them up into even smallers text files up to the individuals that need to do that, in order to use them as such. I'm fairly sure others with the abilities to do so - can and will help individuals who can't and do need them segmented into even smaller files to work with for their needs. Anybody that wants to do this certainly has my full consent to do it. ------------------------- 'The Spanish Dictionary' Part1.txt is Part1.SHK (791k) and is - a.thru.uń (a ProDOS - ASCII text file). Part2.txt is Part2.SHK (34k) and is - v.to.end (also a ProDOS - ASCII text file). Status: Freeware - for non-commercial use only, with no restrictions otherwise! Copyright © 1999 by OSRL (OmniSoft Research Lab) and Charles T. Turley 'The Spanish Dictionary' is very through - consisting of over 247,049 plus Spanish words, starting with the letter/word - a and ending with the word NOVIEMBRE. It's a standard Apple II usable text file of 8 bit characters with Spanish style accents for each word, as specific to the Spanish language. It should prove useful for those wishing to make a Spanish spell checker and/or custom Spanish language dictionary, such as for use with AppleWorks for the Apple II computer or any other specific Apple II or IIgs word processor program, Multimedia program, etc. that it can be used and/or converted for such needs with. I hope those that require such will find 'The Spanish Dictionary' of some useful value to their needs. Other foreign language text files for use as dictionaries and/or spell checkers, such as this one - in 8 bit Apple II - ASCII text file format will be released if I receive any such request -later during this year, as best my time and abilities allow.
