    Incidentally, speaking of LCD's, I was a little unclear with my original
comment about modern LCD flat-panel displays. I didn't mean to say the
technology is incompatible with the Second Sight, just that it wouldn't
exactly be suitable. It would have to stretch the 640x400 image to either
1024x768 or 1280x1024. Not pretty to say the least. I'd still like to test it
out shortly just out of curiosity...

    I noticed that with my Second Sight as well. It looks as though the card
(or cabling) isn't properly shielded and picks up stray RF noise that shows
up on screen.

    It only locks up the machine when Double-Hi-Res is _activated_. 
If the program simply converts DHR images but doesn't actually 
display a  DHR screen, then no ill-effect would happen.

    What I find annoying is there's no way to disable the Second Sight, 
so I must physically remove the card if I need to run any software that
invokes a DHR screen. Otherwise it will just instantly crash whether
you're using the card or not.

    I doubt it, unless there's an updated firmware revision I'm unaware 
of. I have "1.4-BEEF" on my card and I'm fairly sure that was the final 
release Sequential Systems put out. Unfortunately it wasn't meant to 
be final, it was still in the beta stage when they abandoned the card.

    BTW, once we're on the topic, I compiled a list two years ago 
of all the software that natively supports the Second Sight. It's
very small but it might be of interest to some people. Anything
missing...?
