This is documented in the ProDOS Technical Reference Manual, March 1987 edition, Section 5.1.5.2 Quitting System Programs. The parameters are thosed listed in L. Longs prior post. The Quit code copies from $d100-D3ff of the second 4k bank of the language card to $1000 and then jumps to $1000. This normally contains Apples "BYE" program. It resets some operating system variables and allows selection of the next system program to be run. Early versions (and 40 column versions) allowed you to enter a Prefix and then a system filename to be executed. Some later versions allowed you to tab through on-line volumes and then scroll through subdirectories and to select a system file. It also includes specifications for writing your own selector program to replace the standard ProDOS one.
