This is an RS232 cable originally used for an external modem o the above cable connected to a gender changer (female on both ends) o the above gender changer connected to a DB25 male to MiniDin 8pin male at the Imagewriter end. With the above you should be able do things like DIR >COM1 and get the output on the Imagewriter. I have used the Imagewriter with WordPerfect 5.1 which includes a driver for it. I believe with WP 5.0 you had to call them to get it. The above cables are available from CompUSA, which has a half dozen stores from Washington to Boston on the East Coast. They do take mail order at 1-800-451-7638. At their King of Prussia, Pa store the following is available: Part Description Price ---------------------------------------------------------- 863300 CBL AT Serial 1 foot DB9F-DB25M 4.99 862105 CBL GNDR CHG F/F 2P 5.99 864201 MAC CBL-Image I MD8M-DB25M 8.99 which will set you up for 20 dollars plus shipping. They have a ten foot version of item #1: 863402, CBL MODEM, at $7.99, which might be a better bet for future uses besides this one. CompUSA should also be able to set you up with the correct cable for the modem as well.
