However, when ever I get a lot of text transfered quickly (while in an editor on the unix machine I'm logged into) it almost always hangs up the modem on me when I'm in v42bis mode. It hardly ever does it in MNP 5 mode. So, I guess my question is how do I set up my IIgs and the Zoom modem so that this doesn't happen. Here is my current set up: running under proterm 3.0 modem init string: atX4L0&q5&d2&k2s36=7s48=7s95=44 IIgs modem port settings: buffering: yes baud: 19200 DCD: yes DSR/DTR: yes Xon/Xoff: yes In proterm, I set my baud rate to 38400. The university has two sets of 9600 baud modems, one set supports v42bis and the other set supports MNP5. When in v42bis mode, I almost always get disconnected within 5 minutes of connection. MNP 5 only happens rarely which may just be phone noise. Any help will be GREATLY appreciated. :) Steve -- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Steven Jorgensen | Come sweet slumber and shroud me in thy purple steve@chama.eece.unm.edu | cloak; huh, doesn't even rhyme. -Max Headroom The Khoros Group |
