I've heard that a standard modem cable won't : work for high speed modems. try this init too: at x4 &D0 &K3 &M0 &Q5 N1 L0 S95=44 or the short version when dialing: at&Q5N1 DT###-#### also, a "setup" to adapt to yo our phone line: go into terminal mode (online) and ATNS37=9\E1 modem responds OK then ATDP###-#### dialing a known high-speed board, finially, just hang up and type ATZ to save it... with the wrong cable, when connecting over 9600, the modem tries to handshake over the cts/rts line and waits there till it does. The modified cable crams all three handshakers into the apple's one. (pin 4 I think) In the control panel, you turn off all handshaking, well maybe rts on. and buffering on. anyways, works for me! -rob [rmallory@silicon.csci.csusb.edu] Path: news.weeg.uiowa.edu!news.uiowa.edu!hobbes.physics.uiowa.edu!newsrelay.iastate.edu!vixen.cso.uiuc.edu!sdd.hp.com!hplabs!ucbvax!ADLER.MEC.MASS.EDU!MECVC_WACHUS From: MECVC_WACHUS@ADLER.MEC.MASS.EDU ("Chris Vavruska - Boxborough, MA") Newsgroups: comp.sys.apple2 Subject: Re: $99 LineLink 144e and GS-=>HELP!
