I thought it would be nice to make for my IIgs HFS CDs of files I 
downloaded from Asimov and Ground, but I don't have a Mac.  This is 
usually a big problem.  Not today!  I had an idea about what to do, and 
it seems to work!

First, use HFV Explorer to make a 640 MB HFS-formatted disk image, then 
populate the file with whatever you'd like burned to CD.  Next, break out 
Nero.  Select the File menu, then the item "Burn Image". Ask for 
displaying all files (*.*) since Nero expects files with the NRG suffix, 
locate your image file and load it. Answer OK to the Foreign Image File 
prompt (if Nero doesn't recognize a true ISO image).  You then have to 
specify the parameters of the ISO file (this holds true for all HFS 
images): Type of image: Data Mode 1. Block size: 2048. File precursor and 
image trailer: 0 length. No Scrambled and no Swapped.  If the program 
complains that there are errors in the image file, click on the button 
"Ignore" and launch the burning.

Voila!  HFS CDs made with Windows!  I tested the results on my IIgs, and 
it worked just great.  Of course, this method is virtually guaranteed to 
also work with HFV files made or modified under Basilisk II, though I 
didn't test that.
