I do that all the time on PC CPU fans and power supply fans- it's cheaper, quicker, and easier than replacing the fan. I think the Vulcan fan is smaller than the std power supply fan, so it will probably be a lot easier to lube it than to hunt down the correct size. I lubed the fan in one of my Vulcans for the same reason. I don't recall the details, seems to me the fan was in a strange holder that I had to get apart.Typically the fan has a "blade side" and a "sticker side". Peel off the sticker to get at the bushing/bearings. I use a lube that has teflon in it, but probably any remotely suitable oil will do. Put a tiny amount in there (a drop is too much), and spin the blade by hand. Compare that to how it spun before lubing. You can use a swab to remove any excess oil. I clean the surface with alcohol, then seal with a small piece of scotch tape. Oh yeah, before you peel the sticker, clean the dust from the blades and body of the fan. That contributes to the noise by unbalancing the blades. Good luck! -Paul
