I've got a CD from them Golden Orchard something, and although I can access it, the finder, on GS/Mac, and HFV Explorer, under Windoze, has to search the entire volume everytime you click on a new icon. This, I feel, is not a proper way for a CD to work. I have other HFS CDs that do not do this and I simply don't use this particular CD. Also I am unable to extract the files from the volume so that I can remake it. I believe this CD came from Call A.P.P.L.E. which is the reason for this review. If I'm wrong, I apologize for the error in my judgement. Joe sells v1.0 which is the one with the data split over 8 partitions. Call A.P.P.L.E.'s is v1.1 which have everything combine into a single partition. Mark R. Joe's version is bootable due to the fact that the first partition is formatted as ProDOS. This makes this CD one of the few that can be used on an 8-bit Apple II with a CD-ROM drive. The downside is that pretty much only an Apple IIgs can access all of the partitions. A Macintosh can only access one partition unless you install a 3rd party driver. I have Joe's version of G.O. but that was the only one available at the time I purchased it. If buying it today I'd go with Call A.P.P.L.E.'s version. A single partition I find more convenient and the $19.95 price tag beats Joe's price. http://www.callapple.org/cat/Current.htm Mark R.
