To deprotect many Sierra adventure games: 1) Sector Copy the original diskette(s) 2) Using Copy II Plus scan the backup of the first disk for the Byte sequence "20 00 FF". 3) Replace the 20 00 FF with EA EA EA. 4) The disk is now unprotected. Once it's deprotected you can make a standard .DSK image. Sometime the 20 00 FF pattern occurs more then once so be sure to scan the entire disk. Don't just stop after the first occurrence. I know this works with King's Quest 1-3, Space Quest 1&2, Black Cauldron, and Leisure Suit Larry. -Rob "Bryan Parkoff" wrote in message news:EoZ39.27653$6Z1.957763@bin6.nnrp.aus1.giganews.com... > Copy-Protected Images Questions > > I have some Sierra diskettes for Apple II such as The Black Cauldron. > Three diskettes are able to copy from sector to sector, but only one master > does not. > I am wondering if there is a possibility such as Nibble software that > allows to read all copy-protected sectors into NIB images before I can be > able to run it in an Apple II emulator.
