What is ADFS? Here's the scoop: A Macintosh program to mount all your emulator disk images in the finder and drag files back and forth! No more fork problems. Converts Basic->Text, high ascii to low etc. It's like Copy ][+ for the Macintosh, only better. Handles CP/M and Pascal too! For all the info check it out: http://www.lazilong.com/apple_II/adfs/ For the version history and what's new, see: http://www.lazilong.com/apple_II/adfs/vers_hist.htm Interested in testing it? Please write mailto:me@lazilong.com. Thanks! -Laz You heard right! Want to read and write files to your emulator disk images? DOS 3.3? ProDOS? Have you noticed that the ProDOS FST has broken under OS 9? It will corrupt your disks (at least, it does on my system) Or hey, are you running OS X? No ProDOS there at all! ADFS does all this and more. Still in development, get the scoop at: http://www.lazilong.com/apple_II/adfs/ be sure to see the version history for what's currently functioning! Want to play with it? Test it? Influence development? write to me: mailto:me@lazilong.com Thanks! > We do not have any modern Macs; so, there is no way to try your software well, it runs on 68k, so it should run on older macs. that's what I need testers for :) > It may help if you would go into more detail about the tasks Apple DOS > File System makes easier. well, from what I understand the ProDOS FST is broken under OS 9, it reads okay, but writing corrupts disks. And there never was a DOS 3.3 FST, (nor Pascal nor CP/M). So the first thing this does is fill in that hole. You can now read/write/transfer files between all these disk images, using simple drag and drop that you know and love. Now, say you're a developer of a2 software (a rare breed?) and you want to edit your source files on the mac side, say with BBEdit or CodeWarrior. Edit away, then simply drag your source folder back to your disk image so you can complie on the 2. (translates low->high ascii on the fly) Now that is cool! Or, say you want to get all your old text, basic (in text form), apple works (again in text form), and graphics files onto your mac. Just drag them, simple. Open your graphics with a2pix :-) With text files, you can just select one in ADFS and hit copy, and the text contents of the file is on the clipboard! :-) You can also do other Copy ][+ type things, like map disks, undelete files etc. or Zapper things like set file types, aux types etc. Enjoy! :) -laz What's new: * you know it works with DOS 3.3 right? * Fixed nasty bug that could write junk into your DOS 3.3 disks (you *are* working on *copies* of your disk images aren't you?) * Fixed crash on startup (doh!) * Reorg'd menus * integrated with the new a2pix, you can now d-click on HGR graphics to see them!
