The only Apple II emulators I know of that run under Mac OS X are KEGS- OSX, OSXII and Virtual ][. There are several more that will run in Classic under Mac OS X though. There's a list of emulators at . I downloaded the free release of Apple GEOS from Breadbox at and tried it with various emulators. In both OSXII and Virtual ][ GEOS got as far as producing the "BOOTING GEOS..." message then exited into the monitor. In KEGS-OSX and Bernie ][ The Rescue GEOS booted fine, but the video came up in colour. This might be your real problem. GEOS uses double-hires graphics which can be interpreted as either high-resolution monochrome or low-resolution colour. The IIGS doesn't know which one you want and defaults to colour, which just looks like a blobby mess. To fix it, go to the classic desk accessories menu with command-control- escape (or option-control-escape in KEGS), select Control Panel -> Display -> Type, and change it to monochrome. -- Roger Johnstone, Invercargill, New Zealand http://vintageware.orcon.net.nz/ ________________________________________________________________________ No Silicon Heaven?
