I have used ADT wit a IIc and it worked.  I had built years earlier a
converter for the IIc that has a 9pin male connector.  I don't know
where it is, but this diagram looks right.

Signal		25pin	9pin		IIc	Signal
Rx		3	2	to	4	Tx
Tx		2	3	to	5	Rx
Gnd		7	5	to	2	Gnd
DSR & CD	6+8	6+1	to	1	DTR
DTR		20	4	to	3	DSR

As listed the IIc wires are as follows:

5    4
 3   1
