L A B E L S (an environmental print Tutor-Tech stack) by Jay Edwards One of the first words that a child learns to read (recognizing that letters represent ideas) seems to be "Beer" because it's everywhere. That's environmental print. This Tutor-Tech stack takes a little trip to the grocery store and, while you won't even find root-beer on the shopping list, there's a grocery list with the shopping basket to help you remember what you came in the store for. Any item on the environmental print list (Milk, Apple Juice, Fish, Bread, Cookies, Toys, Candy) can be selected, repeated or ignored. This stack is student directed and no directions are required. Correct responses are provided with a reward screen and after three correct selections, the student is returned to the shopping basket to go find something else. Mis-selections link to a reminder page to see the correct spelling so that the supermarket explorer can try again and succeed. You'll need a 128K Apple II, the Tutor-Tech Student Disk or Tutor-Tech Demo Disk (Free from Techware as a zipped PC download (www.techware.com/techware/software/ tt.html) or call for the actual disk (1-888-TECHWARE)) to open the stack. The program works with just the keyboard, but will recognize a mouse, joystick, touch window, Muppet keyboard and just about anything else that you want. Just activate what you want to use (ie: move the mouse) when the program is first booting up (not this stack, but the actual Tutor-Tech Student program) and you're set to use it. ][ Infinitum!
