FORTUNE TELLER (c) 1989 Quarters-N-Dimes This program was written from scratch by two 'novice' programmers who wanted something creative to do. (right!) You are free to distribute and make copies of this AWESOME program. However, you MUST include all Original Documentation and the program MAY NOT be tampered with. Please enjoy our creation. As you may have heard, we have installed many an easter egg on this program...you may find them by typing certain characters/keys/words/phrases at a 'prompt' ( ] , ? , etc..) OR if you cannot find them on your own or it's too much of a pain (which it is), just register with us (send shareware fee) and we will send you a sheet with all key-code/commands for you to explore the far-reaches of this program. Please send $5.00 (only FIVE BUCKS!) to: SPHINX User Group 1305 W. Oregon Street Bellingham, WA 98225 Now, how to operate FORTUNE TELLER: This program was created to make it easier on those who don't like to think and as a rest for those to whom thinking comes naturally...All you do is follow on screen directions... 1. Use ACU to unpack this file. You should have about 30-some-odd files (a lot isn't it). Copy the files PRODOS and BASIC.SYSTEM from your System Disk or Copy II Plus onto the disk and rename it '/TUTORIAL'. You are now ready to run FORTUNE TELLER! 2. Insert the disk and wait for startup screen. make sure that you take a good look at the enthraling graphics! Press any key (although it says SPACE BAR) 3. Be sure to read this screen it contains the copyright 'stuff' and all the information you need to know (about shareware of course) 4. Use the mouse to select either: Run FORTUNE TELLER Quit to BASIC or Run another program For now, move the cursor onto the Run FORTUNE TELLER 'zone' and click the button, the rest are for once you have already used this program or if you want to boot up something else. 5. Three screens appear (not at once!). They are the credit screens, we like to give each other credit, Quarters and Dimes. Press any key when you've read the whole 4 words on each picture. 6. Finally, you get to see the REAL PROGRAM! Pretty Neat, huh? Well read the address and if you haven't gotten it already, write it down (preferrably on an envelope with a check in it) Read the following screens and then enter your name...It really doesn't matter, you can enter whatever you want. It just makes the program seem 'nicer' 7. You will be told your fortune. For now, we do not have a print option (stinks doesn't it?) We are having technical difficulties in that area, but in 1.1 or 2.0 we hope to have it licked and you will be able to print your fortunes on your Imagewriter ( I or II ). 8. You will be given three cards, one at a time, and when you are done, you will be asked if you would like to have another set. This comes in handy when two or more people want fortunes and only one can get them at a time. Just enter 'y' or 'n'. If you enter 'n' then you will be taken back to the Opening pictures and choices sequence. 9. ENJOY! Boot this program every morning before you go to work or school. It only takes a couple of minutes. (WARNING!! Do NOT use this program when you are late! You could get MAD while waiting for the screens and THRASH your computer. Not good) If you register, we will supply you with the "QUICK LETTER" or the letter you push at the beginning so you can get to the goodies! We urge you to send in for your registration. Besides getting FREE upgrades including the PRINT OPTION, you get the key-codes for the BEST DARNED EASTER EGGS YOU'LL EVER SEE!!! They are good! Please send in and give copies to your friends with IIGS's. NOTE: Feel free to show off the STUDLY graphics to 'GOOBERS' who own Amiga's or Commodores or IBM compatables...They suck the computers and their owners! P.S. To get you started, here's the "QUICK LETTER" egg: On the SECOND screen the one with the shareware info. on it, instead of pressing any key, simply press 'p' (lowercase) and you will be WARPED to the beginning of the 'fortune teller' program! If you want a clue to one of the Easter Eggs, Look at the file: Clue.1
