Single Switch Games #1 & #2 This disk contains three games that can be played with a single switch (or the 'Open-Apple' key). These programs are public domain and may be distributed freely. 1) Pinball This game was created with 'The Pinball Construction Set'. There are two versions for fast or slow game play. There is a bug in the program that limits use of this program to Apple II's that are equipped with a mouse (even though the mouse serves no purpose in the game). If you try to run this program on a computer that doesn't have a mouse it will crash. 2) Night Crawler (author unknown, modified by Jon Adams 11/91) This is a public domain version of the popular arcade game 'Centipeed'. The object of the game is to score points by shooting the various bugs that appear on the screen. If one of the bugs hits your player, it explodes. The game ends after you have been hit three times. To start a new game, hit your switch. The modifications to the program allow you chooses between two methods of control: A) When the switch is down the player moves left, when the switch is up the player moves right. B) The player reverses direction each time the switch is pressed. In both modes the player fires automatically at intermittent intervals. 3) Troll's Gold (Written by Thomas Lavritsen 1/80; Modified by Jon Adams 12/88) This is a simple adventure game in which the player (green) maneuvers through a maze in an attempt to get the gold (yellow) while avoiding the Troll (orange). The modification to the program allows you to scan through your choices of movement at a pre-selected scan rate (1 to 10 seconds). When the desired choice is highlighted, press the switch to select it. Alternately, you can step through the choices using Switch 2 (or the Option key) and then select the choice with Switch 1. Your choices are: Up, Down, Right, Left and Stay. You can also choose between a short game (get the gold) or a long game (get the gold and exit the maze). This constitutes the information for the public domain games and their files found on the SG1.SDK (Shrinkit GS disk archive). This disk archive is a self-booting ProDOS disk. Firebug and Beachhead are on the SG2.SDK (Shrinkit GS disk archive) This disk archive is a self-booting DOS3.3 disk. All files on this disk are also public domain.
