        beta.971222
                This directory contains a patch that allows programmers
                to use ORCA/C v2.1.x with both GNO v2.0.4 and GNO
                v2.0.6. It consists of libraries, header files, and
                manual pages. This is not for use with earlier versions
                of ORCA/C. Ensure you read the README file. All the
                files in this directory (beta.971222) are required.

        beta.980114
                This directory contains a replacement for the library
                "libc" from the beta.971222 patch.

        beta.980324
                This directory contains replacement libraries and some
                header files. It must be used in conjunction with the
                beta.971222 patch.

        beta.980328
                This directory contains another update to libc, plus
                some header files.

        beta.981031
                This directory contains a replacement libc with matching
                headers, syslogd(8), and logger(1). Required for
                thread-safe access to the syslog(3) routines.

        beta.990104
                This directory contains a replacement libc with matching
                headers. Affects programs using the syslog routines;
                such programs must be recompiled and relinked if you
                used previous GNO v2.0.6 versions of libc. Older
                programs are unaffected.

        beta.990111
                Similar to beta.990104 but contains a fixed libc, the
                previous version of which had a currupted file and a
                missing routine (__assert).
