This BXY Shrinkit archive is a file-set archive of the Stedman Medical Dictionary -  the first release of a 3 file segment for use with the AppleWorks program, as a custom dictionary set. 

This archive contains the 3 medical dictionaries from STEDMAN.  Although they once appeared in the format appropriate for SENSIBLE SPELLER, I have converted them to standard TXT files so they may be used with QUICKSPELL.  To do so, rename a file CUST.DICTIONARY and re-configure TIMEOUT QUICKSPELL to check for your custom dictionary at the location at which you place this file.  The dictionary has been broken apart (#1 = 27,081 words, #2 = 23,577 words, #3 = 15,103 words  TOTAL = 65,761 words) as AppleWorks has some internal limits that prohibit larger files.  Depending upon your needs you may find that CUST.DICT.1 is sufficient.

This archive was presented in the GRAB.BAG folder, of the 'Premiere Issue' of GS WorldView - Vol. 1, Number 1, which was released on 12/29/95.  It's been deleted from that folder, as of 1/15/96 and (hopefully) can now be archived (for your download) within our 1WSW folder on GRIND!
