THE FORMAT FUNCTION

FORMAT DISK becomes available after the intermediate interface level.

Access the FORMAT function from the WORK menu.  Use FORMAT to initialize a volume.  Use the NEXT DEVICE button to set the source path to the correct device with the unformatted media.  After formatting a disk, the volume name will be "/Blank".  ERASE DISK performs a format just like FORMAT DISK, except ERASE DISK will erase a previously formatted disk, which is very fast, and FORMAT DISK will reformat an already formatted disk.

Follow these steps when performing a FORMAT operation:
	(1).  Determine if the source path is correct.
	(2).  Select the BEGIN button.
	(3).  Verify the FORMAT in the System generated dialog.

BUTTON ACTIONS IN THE FORMAT WINDOW

There are four buttons in the FORMAT window:  BEGIN, NEXT VOLUME, NEXT DEVICE, and CHOOSE PATH.
