Release Notes September 26, 1991 Program Collection Written by Roy LeCates ==================================================== Please read the short lecture on Shareware below. ==================================================== Suggestions and messages may be sent by the Internet system to lecates@chopin.udel.edu. Please feel free to offer advice, recommendations, or adulations. ==================================================== ============================================================ These Apple IIgs applications are available from me via e-mail. Just mail a request with your e-mail address, and I'll send you a copy. Applications Available: ----------------------- Eyes NDA: These curious eyes appeared in my friend's Mac's menu bar. I thought that it would be nice have them on the GS. The eyes only work in 640 mode, otherwise they won't do anything. Qburt 1.2: This is a clone of my favorite arcade game. The Qburt character must jump on 3-d squares to change their colors. Falling objects, a pursuing snake, and two little green guys make the game more challenging. Daleks! 1.0: This game on my friend's Mac at college, and it became very addicting. Daleks chase your man around the screen. You must force daleks to collide to advance to higher levels. Block Party 1.1: I always wanted to know what certain files looked like on my hard disk, so I wrote this utility. It displays the structure of any file, analyzes all of the files on a disk, and even finds the owner of individual blocks. The contents of blocks can be displayed. Groups of startup files (TIF, PIF, NDA, CDA, DRV, CDV) can be activated/deactivated with the click of a button. ChessLaunch 1.0: I discovered that ChessMaster 2100 would not run from the newer system disks. However, there is a quick, easy way to get around this problem. This utility is the solution. ============================================================ Programmer Credits (who am I and who I am): ------------------------------------------- All of the programs on this disk were written by Roy LeCates, a 21 year old student of the University of Delaware. My goal is to graduate with a double degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. I have used all types of Apple II's, Macs, IBM, and lots of clones. I program in Merlin 16+ assembly language, ORCA/Pascal, BASIC, QuickBASIC, Turbo Pascal, Fortran, SAS, Scheme, and C++. I enjoyed learning assembly language and the IIgs Toolbox. I would like to write other games and programs, but I need ideas. If you have a good idea or two for a game, please send it to me, and I will write back to you with a response. If you have any corrections/suggestions for any of my applications, please send the information to me for the next release. Please mail your letter to me at the address below. ============================================================ <<<---*-*=*I* M O S T I M P O R T A N T *I*=*-*-->>> ============================================================ If you actually use this program more than 2-3 times, please send me the measly 5 bucks! I am a supporter of Shareware, and I would like to be supported by it in return (that's fair, isn't it?). If you think 5 bucks is too much, make it $4 or $3 or $2 or $1 or even 10 cents -- whatever you think is fair (I even accept a nice letter). I urge you to support the Shareware efforts of others also. Many other programs request $10 or more, and some even deserve it! If you actually use the work of others, you should pay them for their efforts in making your life more easy, convenient or fun. ============================================================ Address for letters, ideas, contributions: ------------------------------------------ Roy LeCates 313 Robinson Street Georgetown, DE 19947 (USA, of course) I hope to hear from YOU!
