Castle Wolfenstein Below is some info on game controls. I _think_ these were features added with Beyond Wolf. One neat trick for dealing with tough SS guards (from Sean Williams in Computist #8) is to quickly approach them, aim, and press "U" to get their bullet-proof vests. This makes them much easier to kill. Michael Procrass (in Computist #16) notes that holding the SPACE bar (and pressing the Repeat key if you have one) will speed up the countdown for Searches. Andrew Lundsten (in Computist #19) observes that an SS guard on your trail follows your exact path. This could be useful info. Michael Cook (in Computist #47) warns to not kill an SS guard in front of a Door. You will not be able to open the door because, when you press SPACE, the program will think you want to Search the guard. Also, you can zap an enemy you leave behind at a double-wide exit by moving over one square in the room you enter and, then, re-entering the room you just left (i.e. landing on top of the enemy). If it jams, shoot at it. Try to find secret passages the lead from 1st floor to 3rd floor (downstairs). Don't switch weapons or reset the bomb timer amongst guards. On "Elite Strike Force Spy" or "Top Secret Operative" guards sitting at their desk will happily get up from their desk and trigger the alarm. If you've bribed them or they've taken one of your passes you can use hold them up at their desk, holster you gun, quickly draw it out and by that time they'll have stood up from their desk. Now you can get your stuff back. To find bomb: The bomb is always located (I think) one screen right and two or three screens up. -/\/\ichael- ------ Author: Olafur Jon Bjornsson One more thing, the map of the Castle is always the same so you can draw it and reuse as often as you like. --------- Author: Donald Lee (leed@sfsu.edu email 1997/03/06) Hi, Had the same problem for years until I somehow discovered it. It's control-shift-colon. You should have your dagger in hand. :) -Don -------- the 1 key is for the dagger, 2 is for the small gun, 3 is for the larger one, and so on. I guess 9 or 0 is for the biggest weapon, but I haven't come any further than 5 i think. -= Doede =- -------- Due to the success of Castle Wolfenstein a sequal was made a bit later. It was called Beyond Wolfenstein. This time there were guards with pass-codes, dogs and the goal was to plant a bomb near Hitler and blow him off! -Barnoz (Paradox Email: paradox@cam.org) -------- In BCW you could hold guys up and steal their stuff and then shoot them while they still had their arms up. -Scott Adler
