Font Redirectory v1.0 Copyright © 1994 by Eric Shepherd Font Redirectory lets you change the directory the Font Manager looks in for your bitmap fonts. There is a restriction: the pathname of the fonts directory MUST be exactly 15 characters long, no shorter, no longer. For instance, the default string is: Ò*:System:Fonts:Ó. ThatÕs 15 characters. Ò:Coal.Mine:Fnt:Ó is also legal. This limitation is forced by the Font Manager. Before using Font Redirectory, create the directory youÕll be putting your fonts into FIRST. Remember that the full pathname, including colons, must be 15 characters. Copy the fonts you want into it, including FASTFONT. To use Font Redirectory, just launch it from the Finder. YouÕll be asked to insert your boot disk and type its name. Do so. Then youÕll be shown the current pathname of your fonts directory (as the Font Manager will look for it). Type in a new name, EXACTLY 15 characters. Use slashes (Ò/Ó) as separators; Font Redirectory will convert them to colons for you. Font Redirectory will make sure your pathname is valid (begins with either Ò*Ó or Ò/Ó and ends with Ò/Ó) before checking if the length is 15 characters. If itÕs valid, youÕll be asked if you want to save the change. ItÕs that simple.
