Its auto-detection of SCSI vs Parallel is fragile, to say the least. (This applies to all platforms, not specifically the RamFast.) Get a standard Zip instead, and save money in the process. The only real advantages of the Zip Plus are the ability to hook it up to a PC parallel port as well as SCSI, and more SCSI IDs are available. The power supply is slightly more convenient, but new Zips come with a much lighter power pack which is less trouble than the original one (which I have). > Any special procedures to format the Zip disks? You might not be able to do a low level format without a Macintosh or PC to run the Zip Tools software, but I've never used a Zip with a RamFast, so I can't be sure of this. You definitely cannot use the password protection feature. -- David Empson dempson@actrix.gen.nz Snail mail: P.O. Box 27-103, Wellington, New Zealand
