RE: The "small" ProDOS caps-lock key patch I =love= this patch. I saw it posted by Mark Miller back in '94 and saved his original post. I've been using it without a hint of a problem since then. Here it is in its entirety. Category 9, Topic 6 Message 412 Tue Mar 08, 1994 M.MILLER31 at 01:07 EST I first thought to post this in A2Pro, however, now I suspect that this may be of interest to most A2 readers, too. After a little snooping in System 6.0.1, I came up with this simple and sneaky patch. The following patch will allow IIgs users to boot into ProDOS 8 by pressing the key down, as opposed to holding the '8' key down. If the key is up, the IIgs will boot the system start file (i.e., the Finder in most cases). Using ProSel-16 or some other block editor, make the following modifications to the ProDOS boot file (NOT P8): Offset Was Now ------ ------ ------ $42A: $00 $25 $42D: $FF $04 $430: $B8 $04 Please enjoy the yums!
