AppleWorks J __________________________________________________________________ Unwanted Characters Printed at Start of Line __________________________________________________________________ If you get a 0 or 0N or "f" or any other unexpected character at the beginning of a line on a printout, it could be that an incorrect Lines Per Inch or Characters Per Inch code is defined in the "Specify Information about your printer" section of AppleWorks. If you are working with the default settings in AppleWorks, try removing the 6 LI code or the 10 CPI code. To accomplish this, when you see the prompt which asks you to accept or reject the current settings, select "No". Then, when your screen states that the current codes are "None", type the command (indicated at the bottom of the screen) to End. Finally, unwanted characters at the start of each line can be caused by specifying the wrong kind of printer in the "Specify Printers" menu.
