I've a very found and dear relationship with a group of 'Special Gifted' - handicapped children, both girls and boys ranging in age from 9 to 12, that enjoy using the IIgs, with SoundSmith and Noise Tracker for creating and/or working with music. They attend a group project vacation camp, in Northern California, for 2 weeks, each November. I gave them a collection of SoundSmith Christmas music, and a large collection of SoundSmith sound samples, to work with for a week. I showed them the basics involved, with respect to; loading, converting, enhancing, modifying scores, adding special effects, adding and/or replacing sound samples, etc. for SoundSmith music, then saving the music modules via NTGS v2.0, as type 2 music modules. The music on this disk, is the result of their efforts during that week. I was so impressed and touched when I listened to it, that I decided to release it for everybody to listen to and enjoy. I designed the graphics, the boot, with the JukeBox music player, the order of the eight music modules and the disk design. The player, basic program and all of its related files are Copyright (c) 1994 by 1WSW and OSRL. The disk contains only NTGS v2.0 - type 2 music modules. All the music, graphics and the Slide.Show on this disk are all released as public domain. SPECIAL NOTE: To view the 'Christmas Pic's, which are all; 320 Mode - 256 Colors and 16 Bit, $C1-PIC graphics, you must select and launch the 'SLIDE.SHOW' (ProDOS - P8) system file, from the GS/OS v6.0.1 Finder. The pictures will proceed to display in a timed looped, automatic sequence. To move to the next picture, click the mouse. To access a mouse driven and select menu of all the pictures, press the spacebar. To exit and return to your selected choice of any application/launch/system file, press the esc key. For your use to select from and return to the GS/OS finder, I've configured the 'SLIDE.SHOW' system file to allow you to launch it from your GS/OS finder - desktop. Simply select and click on the 'SLIDE.SHOW' system file to launch it, then press the esc key, to exit and return to your GS/OS finder - desktop. We hope you will enjoy these Christmas songs and pictures. We all wish you a 'Very Merry Christmas', 'Happy Holidays' and a 'Happy and Rewarding New Year'. This NTGS Christmas Music JukeBox is a (NO TOOLS) ProDOS 8 disk. It's for use only as, a self-booting (DMA - Fast RAM Virtual Memory) (AUTO-LOAD and AUTO-PLAY/LOOP REPEAT) NTGS music module -JukeBox disk. It must remain as specific disk based software. You can't launch and play these NTGS music modules, via the basic JukeBox program from a hard drive, RAM drive or any other device using the GS/OS finder for launch. To exit the AUTO-PLAY/LOOP REPEAT JukeBox program, at any point, after the music modules have loaded and start to play, press the control and reset keys together, then type bye. If you wish to access any device with GS/OS, you should first, select the P8 system file, on that device, then type bye and select the basic.system file. Type bye again and then launch your GS/OS, with its start file. If you don't follow the instructions, outlined above, before you access any such data/program storage device, after you have finished using this disk, it's then essential, that you do a complete reboot, using; Apple, Control and Reset keys together. You should then have removed this disk from your disk drive and replaced it with the disk, you wish to boot next. The new development type 2 file, a NTGS music module (which presents several audio special effects), can only be loaded for single play, via the NTGS v2.0 GS/OS music program. The NTGS music modules on this disk are all fairly small and the play lengths are short. To hear them in stereo, with their audio special effects and all of the enhancements made by this gifted group of children, you'll need to have a IIgs stereo card (SoundMeister - suggested), a full size, (over the ears) set of full range 20 Hz to 20 KHz headphones (electrostatic suggested), a good stereo amplifier system, a normal hearing range and an appreciation for the music and sounds, made, designed, enhanced and converted by these children. Please make sure to distribute this disk, as it is and only pack it as an 800k disk archive - SDK file, when you transmit it on-line. Make certain that you keep this 'Please.Read.Me' file, with its original content on this disk ! If you have any questions or comments, please address them to me personally, as noted above, via; e-mail, snail mail or voice phone. I look forward to hearing from you, if you have need of any additional information on this disk, its design or the NTGS - type 2 music modules contained on it. I'll be happy to pass any complements you may wish to send, on to the children that did the Christmas music.
