For Release - 12/01/94 Distribution - World IF YOU DON'T READ THE CONTENTS OF THIS FILE FIRST, COMPLETELY, VERY CAREFULLY AND FOLLOW ALL INSTRUCTIONS, YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO HEAR THESE LOONIE TUNEª - 4D MODSª, AS I'VE INTENDED FOR YOU TO HEAR THEM. This is an Shrinkit SDK file, is an 800k ProDOS data disk, IIgs specific, compatible with ROM 01 or ROM 03. To access these two Christmas Loonie Tuneª - 4D MODSª and play the music, you must follow the instructions precisely, as outlined below in steps 0-5. LTGS XMAS MODS (LTGSXMAS.SDK) is part of a large series, being released from me (individually), from the 1994 -95 disks continuum. It's a special release disk that contains two Christmas Loonie Tuneª - 4D MODSª. These two 4D MODSª are BIG, BAS-RELIEFED and BEAUTIFUL, BLESSED WITH A MULTITUDE OF OUTRAGEOUS SPECIAL EFFECTS. They have been remastered and enhanced with dimensional qualities, vertical and horizontal - spacial illusions and will permit neural perceptive relations of TIME, sound and music. This SDK file and all of its contents are placed into the public domain, (with the exception of the Sonobox - NDA, its files and documentation, which are Copyrighted - FreeWare, from Tony Morales). They were originally public domain. So, it's only right that the modifications and enhancements I made to them also, remain in the public domain. I did change all of the MOD titles, because having added new contents in the scores, soundscape designs, special effects, etc., I didn't see the original MODfile names fitting their intended contents, use or purpose. They were digitally remastered personally by me, with score, special effects, sound modifications and sample enhancements, on the IIgs, using the programs; Noise Tracker GS v2.0.x, DigitalSessions, AudioZAP, Sound Ace GS and USE (Universal Sound Edit). I consider TIME to be the 4th Dimension. The MODS, were designed with elements of time tricks, distortional effects and timing illusion shifts. These MODS (if you listen to them as outlined below), will cause both your brains left and right hemispheres, to function as a whole unit, with both hemispheres in total audio receptive syncronization, (a phenomena, known a Hemisync). Don't worry, no brain dammage will result from listening to them, as instructions outline below, in steps 0-5. However, you will gain a totally new sense of audio understanding and appreciation for your brains abilities - working as a whole unit - when it perceives the sound, music and time aspects of them, the quality and events of TIME itself and a new understanding for music, sound and their abilities to give the illusion (or maybe it's not an illusion) of audio time warps and distortions. To gain a full understanding of what a 4D MODª really is, to be able to listen to it with its total 4D time elements, aspects and intended soundscape designs, it's absolutely essential that you read and follow the instructions below, exactly. 0. (Yes, zero is a number). Use your IIgs, (ROM 01 or 03) via your GS/OS v6.0.1 system, a good stereo card (Sound Meister - suggested), a full-sized (over-the-ear) set of high intensity/high quality, with full audio range - 20Hz to 20KHz headphones that are stereo (Electrostatics - suggested) and a good quality stereo amplifier system, with your stereo cards output jack connected to your stereo systems input jack (Aux. or CD - suggested) and your headphones connected to the output headphone jack of your stereo system. Set the Vol. control of your stereo system at about 45%. (DO NOT USE EXTERNAL SPEAKERS !!!) 1. Copy the Sonobox NDA and its PREF - type $5A file - (Sonobox.Data), into your systems 'Desk Accs' folder. If you've never used Sonobox before, please read the Sonobox documentation first, - (Sonobox.Docs.) 2. Reboot your IIgs and launch your GS/OS V6.0.1 system. 3. From your finder, use the pull-down Apple Menu to access Sonobox, select it. Then click on the Option button and set the volume to 50%. 4. Make sure your 'LTGS.XMAS.MODS' disk is in your disk drive, to allow Sonobox to load the two selected 4D MODSª from its per-configured list of MODS, that are on the 'Rev.3.Disk'. 5. Select and play any of the MODS, in the listing. Remember, to select and play 'MOD.R.E' first and make sure you set the Hz option to 60 Hz, for this MOD. Make certain that you click on the options button, then as the MOD plays (FROM WITHIN THE OPTIONS WINDOW), hold down the 'S' key on your keyboard. Keep the 'S' key held down, through-out the entire play of any MOD you select in the list. What this does is, a shift from stereo to mono, in a repeat loop. It's very important that you do it. (If you don't do this, the 4D MODSª will sound strange and horrible, in their soundscape qualities). They were specially designed with the 4D time distortion effects and they can only be played with accuracy, and be presented to your auditory perception neural system properly, as intended, using this proceedure. This is the exact same process used to acheive commercially produced 4D music. 4D music, is a totally new method of presenting soundscape dimensional projections, timing illusions, binaural, bineural and hemisync effects, with standard stereo coding. You'll be seeing a lot of this kind of music made available commercially, very soon, from; Germany, England, France, Japan and the USA, via CD's and DAT media. Remember, you got to hear 4D music, as MODS on your IIgs, before its commercial release. Another FIRST, from the computer that just won't die ! These 4D MODS are totally unique, in all respects. You should find them to be both; hilariously funny, thought-provoking, useful for study and comparative review, with your own personal music efforts. I hope you'll use the disk contents correctly, play these 4D MODSª, as I've outlined above and enjoy them. All comments and questions are welcomed ! Charles T.
