I modified this earlier this ('92) Spring, but never got it up to Caltech.
I needed it to output to standard output for use in an on-the-fly 
binscii/sciibin FTP daemon.  The only difference between sciibin 3.00 and
this version (3.10) is that I added a few lines for the stdout dump.  I've
just begun learning C and wouldn't have been able to do any more than that
anyhow.  I thought that I'd up it, since v1.20 is the latest here right
now and even without my little addition, v3.00 is still a significantly
more recent version.
