SoundSmith.FIRST.VERSION.DSK -is a DiskCopy 4.2 image (DSK) file. It is best
used with Bernie ][ the Rescue.  It is a self booting 800k GS/OS version 5.02
disk and it is also useable for launch of the SoundSmith desktop application
program with the GS/OS 6.0.1 using the ROM 01 only.  It WILL NOT work with ROM
03.

This is the VERY FIRST release of the SoundSmith IIgs music program and it only
loads and saves it's song (music) file as a P8 (ProDOS) system file (file type -
FF).  Yes, I know that is very strange. But, that's the way it was designed.

A sample song titled AV is included with the sample instrument AIFF files for
it.  Click on the AV file and it loads the music - song file with all of the
AIFF sample files for the song. Select 'Play' from the main pulldown menu
and listen to it. 

You can convert any more current SoundSmith music - song file to a file type FF
(ProDOS system file) with any file type changer and use it with this VERY FIRST
SoundSmith release.

Uploaded simply because I had it and thought for pure historical value that I'd
make it available to the world.

All of the SoundSmith versions were released to public domain by their author
either last year or the year before.  I forget which now!

to your Apple IIGS collection.

PS: The AV song and souns - sample WAVEBANK file for it are also on the SSP
program disk inside of the icon folder.  SSP is SoundSmith Pro v1.6 - the final
updated released - just today - to this incoming folder.  DO BE SURE to download
all of the SSP archives (They are all - also public domain) and check them all 
out on your REAL IIGS or IIGS emulator.
