Randy Hyde recently put the LISA Assembler and his ANIX shell on ucrmath.ucr.edu for anonymous FTP, and I offered to post them here for the benefit of those of us without FTP. The files "lisa.explain" and "anix.explain" follow. They give a short description of what each of the files is for. I will try to label the posts so you can tell which is which. Please note that I have no association with Randy or this software, am just posting it as a favor to him (although I did download it and am trying it out now). ------------------------------------------------ lisa.doc.a 31663 Approx time: 0:04 at 2400 baud, 0:08 at 1200 baud Contributed by: jerryh Date: Mon May 4 13:53:12 1987 TEXT -- Part 1 of 3 of the LISA v3.2 assembler documentation files. No holds barred here, folks -- now you can see how the pro's design and code one of the best 6502/65C02/65C802/65C816 assembly lang- uage compilers (using the term judiciously) available for the Apple. This file requires the PROPACK program to decompress the source code onto a blank ProDOS-formatted floppy disk. Source code is written with LISA, so you'll need to download all of the LISA.* and ANIX.* files to get at this. Randy & Brian have done an outstanding job with this program, and have put together a shareware version of it for us GS hackers (and other Apple types; this version supports all of the 65xxx processors used in the Apple) to use for serious program development. Included with the assembler source are sample source listings for desk accessories and other goodies (!). This one is fast, powerful, and gives you full access to the Toolbox -- recommended for the GS assembly language programmer. Comes with documentation and other pertinent information as well. This file is a BQY file (SQueezed Binary II files) and requires the BLU\ program to unpack and unsqueeze it before use. If you have them, you can also use B2.DOWNLOAD to seperate the files, and AUSQ (Applesoft UnSQueeze) to unpack the .QQ files into their normal state. If you're interested in how this program is put together you will want to download the LISA assembler (look for LISA. in APPLE APPLICATIONS) and the BNY file named LISA.SOURCE (also requires B2.DOWNLOAD to extract files) containing complete commented LISA source code for the ANIX shell.
