Map coordinates will be given for the Right hand side of the map first (Horizontal position) then from the bottom ( vertical position) such as position BP. I suggest that once you get all of you characters and a "descent" supply of food that you find a safe room and sit for about an Hour and practice the spells so that your characters will gain levels as well as Mana. See the Spells charts on how to use the spells. LEVEL 1 ------- I would recommend, to start with the best possible 4 characters there are, though you CAN choose the ones you like I would recommend the following: Hissssa: Because he has Mana, his strength is good and he will build levels fast, and he tires very slowly. Alex Ander: High Wisdom for spell learning, descent strenght and mana Halk: Good strength, No MANA ( this can be obtained by giving him a wand that you will find later in the game and making him practice spells untill he gains a priest or wizard level. ), and over all good stats. Sonja: Though her Mana is low she does have it as well as good over all stats including strength. My personal recommendations on whether to Resurrect or Reincarnate the characters is that I would reincarnate them. Generally the came up with better strangth and mana when doing this. Also, if they had a character class level they will no longer have it BUT, their stats will be just as high if not higher and they can build from there. Thus making it like gaining an extra level or two. The Dungeon Master Map Key also contains the character levels as they occur. At area I-N there is food. At area K-N there is a pressure plate that opens the door. At area B-R there is a button door that opens to a room where food can be found. LEVEL 2 ------- You enter this level at area 6-4. You will need to goto area 6-1 and open the door, throw something at the mummy and kill it. The open the compartment at the end of this passage. Open the door at 6-6 and head north. there will be a Key at area 4-7. use it to open the door at 3-6. At area W-6 there is a Topaz key that open the door at 1-2. At area W-Z there is a Gold Key that opens the door at 1-1, also some boots are there. At area 1-Y an Emerald Key can be found to open the door at area T-V. At area V-R there is a Iron Key that opens the door at S-4, Some other items can be found here as well. At area Y-U there is a Solid Key that opens the door at area S-1 as well as a sword and other Items. At area 3-Y there is a Gold Key that opens the door at area 6-V. At area 5-S you are about to enter a room of pressure plates. Step on area 5-R then back to 5-S, Now walk strait across. At area 2-B there is a Key that opens the door at area 2-F. Step into the blue field and get the Key. At area Z-B there is a Key to open the door at 2-B. At V-B there is a Key of "B" that opens the door at area U-H. At area U-N there is Food and empty flasks for holding potions. As well as food at area S-Q. This is a good room to stop and practice spells in. The pressure plate at area O-N opens the door at N-O. At area's M-K and M-S there are buttons on the wall. Depress both of them to open the door at area L-O. At area P-T set something in the blue field and then enter it. You will find a Gold Key as well as a sword at area R-T. The Gold Key opens the door at area K-K. There is a copper coin at area M-C. At area G-D there is a torch. Don't worry about the stuff at area C-G. I could not get to it either. There is food at area D-S as well as a switch to open the secret door at area B-U. At area N-4 there is a small Shield. There is food at area N-7. At area A-7 there is a chest full of food. Area F-3 is the stairs going to level 3. LEVEL 3 ------- There is no water on this level so get some on level 3 before entering here. At area 7-J there is a button to open the door at area 7-L. Take the items that are here. The Compass is of little use. Chamber of the Guardian (The Door at area S-L) - You have to get the chest at location 3-B. Keep pressing the buttons along the south wall of 1-B thru 1-O, until it comes out. Use the mirror of dawn you find in the chest on the gem at area Z-H to open a secret door at Z-I There is a Gold Key and food in this room. The Vault ( The door at area Q-L) - To open door across pit at area S-H cast LO ZO ( open Button Door) spell. To cross pit throw an object on the pressure pad behind the door at location S-F. At area T-B there is a Wand. At area P-C there is a button that will open the secret door at area Q-D. The Matrix ( The door at area N-O) - Follow passage until you reach entrance at area G-J. Turn right and go to area E-I. Go to area E-C from here. There will be a piece of cheese here. Turn left and go to area I-B. There is a Button here that opens the secret door at area L-B. There is a Rapier Sword there. Time is of the essence ( The door at Area N-Q) As you enter this door there will be a button directly ahead of you at area K-Q. ( If your characters are loaded heavy, ( The load being yellow or RED) you will need to drop items until they are all in the Grey or "Un-heavy" load scale). Then Depress this button and as you press it RUN to area J-M and go thru the open passage. It may take a few tries but you should be able to make it thru. At area I-P there is a pressure plate that you will have to leave something on. At area I-R you will have to Throw something large, like a shield thru the Blue haze, this will then land on the pressure plate at area G-S and close the Pit. Once thru you will see a button on east wall of the corner at area F-S. Press it and back up "Quickly" 2 steps to area F-O. There is a button at area E-O that will close the pit. Follow the passage to area G-V and you will find some Food, a Gold Key and other Items of Interest. Next head back out the way you came in and go to area Q-S. Room of the Gem ( Area Q-S ) - Place an object on the pressure plate at area Q-V to close the Pit. Press the button on the north side of area N-W. To kill the monsters in here get them to chase you back to the pit and when they stand on it re-open the pit by stepping off of it. The follow the passage to the "T" intersection at area P-1. Turn left and go to the northern most part of this passage. On the East wall of area E-Z there is a button that opens the secret door at area F-3. Get gem and key that is in this area. The Blue Gem opens to door at area Q-W. In area V-2 (past the door at V-2), there is Food, Armor and a Key here. Creature Cavern -- This one is fun! Bash the monsters and get the key at area 5-S. With the 3 gold Keys you have found on this level, you can now open up the 3 doors at area 7-W, 7-Z, and 7-2. There is another Key at area 7-3. This is a RA Key that will open one of the doors on level 7 so hold on to it! At area 4-3 there is a Temple of rebirth. What this will do for you is regerate a character from death. By putting their bones in it. At area 7-5 there is Food and other items. With the Key that you found in "creature cavern" open the door at area 2-5. The Stairs to level 4 are at area X-1. LEVEL 4 ------- This is the level of various creatures that will deffinatly hurt you unless you have practiced your spells and fighting. If not you will gain some levels here if you survive. The worms are the worst here but can be fought very easily. get in a 20 x 20 room and keep moving in circles about the room ( the worms are STUPID and will follow you in circles one step at a time), and as the follow you hit them until they die. You can eat the "Worm Rounds." There is NO WATER on this level so make sure that you have plenty. The Faces that you will see on the walls on this level create more creatures as you pass in front of them so try not to pass in front of them to often. The Rock Creatures are Hard but by developing a strong fireball ( of about the 3rd or 4th power level you can waste them with one or two usually.) The Green Ghosts can be wasted with Weaken Non-material beings Spell. You enter level 4 at area 7-6. Going beyond the "T" intersection at 3-2 is not needed unless you have to lead some rock creatures out of area 4-1. but is a good practice area to waste some creatures, and possibly get some food. At area 7-Y there is a Battle Axe as well as some food. Use the Axe to "Chop" thru the door at area 6-X. At area 6-S there is a Button on the floor as well as one on the south wall. The button opens the Door at area 6-P while you are standing on it. The button on the wall will teleport you to area 6-Q and you will have to RUN thru the door at area 6-P. Once thru there is a level on the North wall of area 6-O that will keep the door open. Basically from here follow the passages and open the door at area W-Z rest after closing the door behind you. ( This is another good place to practice spells.) Continue following the passages to area S-W. There is a Teowand here. Note: ( If you have a character WITHOUT Mana give it to them and make them keep practicing spells until they gain a spell level. Now they can cast spells as any other character.) At area N-Y there is a large shield. Follow the passages and pick up all items of use until you get to area N-C. In this room awaits Shriekers. FOOD, this room is special in the fact that once you leave this room the door will automatically close and after a period of time the shriekers will re-appear. ( Thus creating an endless supply of food.) At area F-I there is a Mummy. Throw something at him and waste him. This will open the door at areaG-H as well as a secret door hiding the Steps to level 5. By this point in time you will have to rest because toy will have to fight at least 4 more worms. Once you waste them you are home free to go to level 5. The Steps for level 5 are at area J-H. LEVEL 5 ------- This level has alot of useful items on it so check it out completly. There are alot of "Nasty monsters", but it is well worth the trouble. You can ( if you elect to do so) Bypass this level and goto the stairs to level 6 at area W-1. But be prepaired for the worst if you do. This level ( level 5) contains 2 hard to kill creatures that do alot of damage to you. 1) A Winged dragon that can be dealt with by useing fireballs. 2) A watery Green slim thing.. ( Dunno the name..) but can be wasted with Poisonballs and/or Fireballs. You enter this level at area 4-J. There is water all along the coordinate "4" hallway. The Steps going up at area 2-N go to area N-H on level 4 where you can go to the "FOOD" room and waste some more screamers for extra food if needed. To enter the heart of this level take the passage at area 4-L In the room with the pressure plates covering the floor. There is NO simply way to solve this room. You will just have to walk it out and get thru it. I Spent at least 4 hours trying to figure out the best route in hree and it seemed to be diffrent each time I re-started the saved game. In the room with the Blue Haze take to following steps to get thru it: Right Arrow, Down Arrow, Up arrow, Left Arrow, Right Arrow, Down arrow, Then step into the exit. In the room at area G-3 The Buttons you find there will "eventually open" the secret room at the north eastern section of the map. try them in this order.. ( worked for me..) I-5,G-5,I-5,I-1,I-1,I-3,I-2,E-1 <--- these are the map spots for the buttons. All of the 4 doors on this level contain something worth getting for later levels. When you leave this level you should have: A Blue Gem, A Bow, A Gold coin, and a Mirror of Dawn. LEVEL 6 ------- You Enter this level at area V-J. This is the Riddle Room. At area S-L you will need to place the Mirror of dawn in the alcove. At area S-O you will need to put a Gold coin in the alcove. At area X-L you will need to put the Blue Gem in the Alcove. At area X-O you will need to place a Bow in the alcove. You will now notice that another small alcove at area U-P is now exposed. Get the key from it and open the door. In the room at area 2-R you will enter the room, stepping on a pressure plate. it will open the door at area 4-P. But as you step on the pressure plate at 2-Q the door closes. There is a switch on the east wall of area 3-P. Pull the switch and turn around. You will now see a blue haze. Place something into it. ( Don't throw it into it.) this will open the door at 4-P. Get the Key out of the room at 5-P. Next, Step into the blue field, get the item that is there. Depress the button on the East wall of area 4-R ( which closes the pit), and walk out. In the next room ( area X-S ) there are 4 buttons. Hit all 4 of them in diffrent combinations until the secret door opens at area W-W, get the key out of the room and leave this room. In the room at S-S open the door. At area T-T you will notice a crack in the wall. put a gold coin in it and it will open the secret door at area Q-W. Get the key out of here and leave. Use 2 of the Iron keys to open the doors at area's O-S and O-U. There is NO need to go to the area south of O-W. There is NOTHING that you will get there that is required in solving the game. Head to area M-1. On the east wall there is a Ring attached to the wall here. Depress the red button on it and open the secret door at area L-2. Enter here and get all Items you find. At area D-1 there is a button on the south wall. Depress it and open the secret door at area C-2. You will find the First Vorpal blade here. ( These swords are useful on ghosts as well as most other monsters. Mostly on the 13th level. ) Head back to area J-1. Use the final Iron Key to open the door and enter area J-Y. The "Flashing Blue haze" at area H-W takes timing to get thru. Jump in and open the door. then time it and it will go out. Go forward "2" times. Stop and wait for it to disappear, and go forward 2 times again. Get the Key that is in area E-V. Open the door with the key from area E-V at area J-U. At the "Test your Strength" area, Throw the Axe down the corridor. This will open the door at area K-L. The Button on the North wall of area G-H open a room that has stairs going to area V-G on level 5. If you are adventurous take the hallways to area 5-F, or go to area D-F and step into the Blue Haze and be teleported to area Z-H. The lever on the east wall of area 5-I opens the door at 1-J. ( You will have to Run under the door here because the pressure plate causes it to close.) There is a button in this room ( at 4-M ) that will re-open the door once inside. Head to Area Q-F. Open the door and Kill the Skeletons. Once inside, Close the door with the Button on the east wall of area Q-I. Rest here and take the 2nd Vorpal blade that is here. Head to area 3-U. There is Mithral armor here. The Steps to level 7 are at area 1-2. Near the Steps is the last Altar of rebirth at 2-2. LEVEL 7 ------- Use the RA key that you found on level 3 to open one of the doors here. Your main quest now is to find the other 2 RA keys. One is on level 9 and the other is on level 12. You will need these keys to get into this level to get the firestaff. Take the steps to level 8 from here. Note: You will also need a master Key that you must get on level 14 to obtain the firestaff off of this level as well. So, don't come back here until you get it. Once you get it, the level is self explainatory by the map, with the exception of the Stone Golems here. Use the swords on them and fight them in the same manner you did the worms on level 4. Once you have the Master Key, you will need to Kill at least one of the Stone Golems that guard the FireStaff. He cannot leave the confines of his cubicle so you can basically jump around the corner and hit him untill he is dead. Use the master Key to get the fireStaff, There are some Items of Interest on this level as well. At area V-F there is the BEST sword that you will find in the game, The Inquisitor Sword, has Berserker attacks. At area D-G there is alot of Miscellaneous supplies such as flasks, potions, water etc. LEVEL 8 ------- You enter this level at area V-N. There is a pressure plate in front of the steps that will open a pit also in front of the steps. This level is not that difficult, But try to waste the thieves with fireballs and the Ghosts with Weaken Non-material Spells. ( you may want to have them ready before ya enter this level. On the Map you will see secret doors all over the place. If you look there is also a blue haze near each one of them. The Buttons to the secret doors are located in each one of the blue Haze's near the door. The only "Difficult area" on this level is at location 6-F. The Blue haze that is on the map is not ( in actuallity ) a "visible blue haze." It is actually a teleport that puts you back to area 6-5. So, it would appear that you were in a "never-ending" hallway. As you Step into area 6-E turn around and you should be able to see the open door at 5-G. The area at F-D is accessible from level 9. There is a Chest that contails a Skeleton Key at area D-F, and a Solid key is located at area D-V. The Skeleton Key will opne the door to area V-J revealing a stairway that leads to all of the levels. Note: This Stairway is very helpfull in getting from level to level. ( And back to level 7 ). There are 4 Skeleton keys, use them on level 8 ( where you are now ) level 9, level 11 and 13. The Steps to level 9 are at area V-G. LEVEL 9 ------- The entrance to this level is at area 3-M. Note: Any copper coins that you have or find from here on KEEP, you will need them on level 11. The wall at area 6-J is a wall that you can walk thru. The button to the secret door at area 4-V is at location 3-Z. At area 6-C you will need to step from 6-D to 6-C, back to 6-D then head forward. ( Or once you step into 6-C turn 180 degrees and continue on your way.) The button to the secret door at area N-C is at location Q-C. When you get to location N-J you have a couple choices, The door at N-I is the best choice for now. Enter it and Kill the neophyte wizards that are there. There is no need to take the steps down at area G-J because there is nothing there. When you get to area K-K DO NOT pull the lever or the chest will fall down the pit and you will then need to go down the stairs at area G-J. You will however, have to go to the Steps and go Up at area N-M. This will take you back to area F-D on level 8. Jump into the pit, or climb down the rope ( if you have one ) after opening the secret door at area H-C ( on level 8). You are now Inside the door at area J-K. Get the chest and open it. Take what is inside and press the button on the south wall of area I-L to open the door. In the room at area F-S there are pressure "Switches" on the floor that shoot fireballs out of the far wall. The best way to avoid getting fried is to place an Item on the one at F-T and step aside. Wait for the fireball to go past. Then place another item on the one in front of you at area E-T step aside and wait for the fireball to go past. Now you can step on either of the pressure switches without getting "Flamed". repeat this untill you are safely to the end of the room. Head north and get the piece of Corbomite ate area C-F. Use the corbomite on the alcove at area Q-Y to open the door. Once the door is open take the corbimite back and keep it. The Second RA key is at location S-M. There is also water here. The entrance to the "never-ending" stairway is at location 3-Q. You will need a Skeleton key to enter here. The Stairs to level 10 are at area S-Q. LEVEL 10 -------- You enter this level at area N-P. Note: There are Scorpions on this level that can take 3 fireballs of the highest level, so be prepaired for them. Follow the path that has NO blue in it on the map as you enter this level. You will then be in a room with 3 pillars and 2 doors ( area N-H). In the center of the 2 doors is a Key. Take the North exit. At area D-B there is some food. At area I-O there is a Key that will open the door at area N-V. When you enter area O-X you will see a series of pressure plates. The "ZOOM" area. As you step on the first plate be prepaired to go for a ride. ( It works basically like a moving sidewalk and timing is needed to make it off at the right place. If you get off and land in the blue haze you will be teleported back to the entrance to this level ( area N-P ). The button to the secret door at area X-B is next to it on the north wall (area X-D). At area 2-U there is a button on the north wall that opens the secret door to area 5-Y. There is also a skeleton key "in" the monster that you kill in this area. At area 5-Y there is a button on the east wall that opens the door to area 2-U. On the north wall of area I-X there is a button that opens the secret door next to it. Inside of area H-Y there is a secret button that will open the secret door to area C-2 which contains "Hard Cleave Battle Axe." The stairs to level 11 are at area B-G. LEVEL 11 -------- You enter this level at area H-K and enter a room called "The Clockwise Room." The Clockwise Room -- if you go around a corner and turn back you are in a different place. This may sound confusing to read but if you do it as you go it "Should work": Go west ( towards the left of the map ) from the stairs to area I-H, make a left turn and continue untill you get to area L-K. Now, Turn around and head back "clockwise" untill you see the word "CLOCKWISE" turn right and go to the next corner. Turn around and go back. You should see an opening with a chest in it. Get the Key out of the chest. ( now comes the fun part. ) Go back into the clockwise room and go clockwise untill you see a "Gold key slot." use the key in it. Now go clockwise untill you see the word clockwise again. Turn right and go to the next corner. Turn around and head back. You should see the opening again, take it and you are out of this mess! As you enter area O-J you will notice alot of holes in the wall. continue until you see the Diamond Sword at the end of the hallway ( area Q-C ). Poison trap--when you pick up the sword just stand still until the poison cloud disperses. Turn around and walk forward one step at a time releasing the poison traps harmlessly, wait for them to clear and make your way back to the entrance. At area D-Z there are 2 secret doors. You will need to walk into area D-Z from area D-X Two times to open the first secret door. For the second door you will see a button at area E-Z. There is a Skeleton Key here. At area N-U there is a Cross key. Use it to open the door at area P-X ( the far eastern door.) There are 2 copper coins in this area: 1) one is located at area G-4 2) the other is located at area W-1. The button to open the secret door at area 8-C is located at 6-C's South wall. In the area that is "Numbered on the map" 1-7 ( area 5-3 ) use the copper coins to open them up. OPEN #4 FIRST, it contains 2 more copper coins. They contain the following: 1) Ven ( Heal ) potion 2) FUL potion ( Fireball ) 3) Magical Box, FUL potion 4) 2 more copper coins 5) Cross Key 6) Chest full of FOOD! 7) Magical Box In area 2-V use a Magnifier or a mirror of Dawn on the "Blue-Green Gem" to open the secret door at area Z-W. There is a Ruby Key at area W-X. Use the Skeleton Key to open the door at area 2-U. The Stairs to level 12 are at area 5-Z. LEVEL 12 -------- You enter this level at area S-P The pressure plate at area 1-N opens and closes "Invisible pits" in the next room ( shown on the map along the "L" line ). Note: The monsters that can turn invisible are really tough. They only attack when they're whole, however, you can hit them then. When they are non-material you can use the "Weaken Non-material beings" Spell or the vorpal blades. Also, The Giant Spiders are hard to kill, Poisonball or Fireball is the best to use on them. On the north wall of area 5-F there is a button that open the door at area X-U. On the east wall of area 2-D there is a button that opens a secret door to area 1-B. At area 1-B There is a Key to open the door at area 1-H. The Knight that is in the room at area Z-H is carrying a Key that will open the Door to area W-E. There is a Button on the wast wall of area W-Z that opens the secret door at area X-2. The Button on the north wall of area S-E opens the door to area E-4, There is a Skeleton key in the room at area C-5. The Darc armor that can be found on this level ( mostly around area 5-3 ) is the Best armor that you will find in the entire game. But consequently it is VERY heavy.) Note: The best way to kill the Knights is to get them to follow you into the invisible pit room, close the pit and when they stand over them open the pits again. There are 2 knights around area G-B. They cannot follow you south past the corner at area I-H. So, you can step around the corner and baet on them for awhile untill you kill them there. The Pits at area M-S move. So, timing is needed to walk past them. Get the Key at area N-N. Note: Now the game gets to be a pain in the Butt. You will need to RUN thru level 13 to get to level 14 to get a Master Key. But you will have to KILL the dragon on level 14 to get it. The reason for having to do this is because you STILL have to go back to level 7 to get the firestaff but, in order to get it you will need the Master Key that is on level 14. LEVEL 13 ---------- You enter level 13 at area E-H. follow the passage south until you get to the opening into the large room. Now, RUN around the fire monsters and go into the other passage that has the stairs to level 14 ( at area O-O ) Once on level 14 to fight the dragon do not use spells they will not hurt him. The best way to do it is fight him like you did the worms all the way up on level 4. But this time use a pillar the one in area L-J on level 14 map. He will chase you around and around the pillar and, every time he comes around the corner Hit him, move around the corner and wait till he comes at you again. Once you waste the dragon, the Key that you need ( The Master Key) is at area J-T. Get the Key and goto level 13. GO to the stairs back to level 12. Once on level 12 area L-L go to area S-L. OPen the Skeleton door with one of the Skeleton Keys and go to level 8. continue on up back to level 7. The rest of level 13 is as follows. ( this is AFTER you have gotten the FireStaff off of level 7.) Use the vorpal blades spell to kill the "Fire Pit" monsters. Then go down the northern passage and round the corner. The monsters do not follow you but stand at the exit. Now you can use magic safely as every time they cast a spell at you, you can dodge around the corner. Fireballs of the Highest power level are the best agains them. ( Not the fire monsters that are on the floor but the other ones.) Go back to level 14 and get the fireStaff with the ZO KATH RA spell. this is how it is done: First get the Corbomite and put it in one hand. Then Cast the ZO KATH RA spell. Put it on the Gem. Next, put the Firestaff in your hand and click it on the Gem. Now you're one powerful fighting force. Go up a level to find the Dark Lord. When you see him use the magical boxs and Eye of time on him and cast a flux cage against him. Whirl round the other side and cast another as it only does one side. Hint, I found that the BEST place to trap him was in the corner at location T-V.. Well that is about all that I can say about the ame other than WHERE is DM II!! Let me at it! Enjoy! You may have to return to upper levels to refill water flasks as after Level 5 there are no more waterskins.
