The following instructions assume that you have an Apple Pascal disk that boots your Apple II with the Mill card in the slot you specified when you ran the "INSTALL" program, in drive 1 and the disk you created from "ZAP.SDK" in drive 2. 1) Boot the system 2) Press the "X" key then enter "#5:ZAP" 3) Press the "D" key to see the directory of the boot disk 4) Please note the first number for the entry for "SYSTEM.APPLE". That's the first block of the file. The next number, 32, is the number of blocks in the file 5) Press the "R" key then enter the sum of the file's first block number plus 25 6) The first three bytes of the block displayed should be 8D E1 BD 7) Press the "E" key to begin editing the block 8) Enter "5F:n0" where n is the new slot number for the Mill card 9) Enter "60:hh" where hh is FF or 00. FF will cause the CPU number display to be seen; 00 will not 10) Press the "W" to update "SYSTEM.APPLE". The program will prompt you to ensure that you really want to update the boot disk. Of course, the Mill card will have to be moved to its new slot before you boot with the modified boot disk.
